Biochemical Markers for the Early Detection of Atherosclerosis (BioMEDA)
is a research program dedicated to investigating emerging biochemical markers and their roles in detecting early stages of atherosclerosis, otherwise undetected by traditional diagnostic methods.

BioMEDA's current studies include C-Reactive Protein, Homocysteine, and Lipoprotein(a). Tests for these biochemicals provide patients and physicians with detailed information needed for early heart disease detection, better prevention, and more personalized treatments. Our unique, patented blood testing technology has established us as the market leader in heart disease risk analysis and coronary artery disease management.

BioMEDA was established in 1999 by the Cedars-Sinai Cardiac Imaging Research group in Los Angeles, California and is supported by various private foundations and individual benefactors.
